Hi,
I have a laptop connected to the TV via HDMI and can successfully duplicate the laptop screen on the TV screen – however I would rather use the small Ethernet network for this laptop and another networked PC to duplicate the screens.
I want to be able to access the lounge TV from two different computers (a Dell Inspiron laptop and a home-built PC) via a wired/wireless Ethernet Windows 10 ‘Home’ network.
The Home network is made possible using a wired/wireless router with 100mb download speed. The TV is connected to the router via a wired Ethernet cable and is recognised in the Router set-up page.
I have a Sharp 46-LC46LE811E 46" LCD TV which is connected to the internet via the router using an Ethernet cable. There is no built-in wireless in this TV and I don’t want to us a wireless dongle, I want to use the Ethernet network.
The TV cannot be added to the laptop's recognised hardware under ‘Devices’. When I choose ‘Add a device’ from ‘Devices and Printers’ a TV appears in the ‘Select a device’ box:
[TV] UE48JU6400 Television
I select the item, there is a search, and then a message appears:
‘Connecting to TV…’ ‘Follow any instructions on your television’ then ‘Time’s up – your television stopped waiting. Try adding it again’.
The above also happens with the firewall disabled.
In its menu (last released firmware), this Sharp TV does not have a way of selecting a computer, I guess it’s just not quite new enough as the menu system on the TV has an ‘Ethernet’ setup option whereas it appears that the newer Sharp TV menus have an ‘Internet’ setup option which I am guessing has a way of choosing a computer in order to join the network as an option?
I can successfully ping the TV from the laptop with a 3ms lag.
Do I have to admit the TV cannot join the Home network?
Please help.
Thanks!
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
